Anyways...

Yesterday in my soccer game, we played the "red" team (I play for the "light blue" team, becuase I do not travel and I don't play for a high school team, so there is no official name for the teams). We won our game 7-2....yippee, but a player on the red team fell and landed on his shoulder. That doesn't sound like much, but he ended up breaking his collar bone (I'm almost positive). That makes me very sad, just thinking about if that had been me, and if i was laying there hardly being able to breathe, sweating profusely and not knowing what will happen next. It's hard for me to imagine the feeling of that. On a slightly happier note, in the first half, I played very well on defense! People couldn't get by me and it was awesome, I just felt that presence on the field that i was 3 times fatter than I actually am, so no one can get by me without running into me. But then in the second half, I played goalkeeper, and the only problem with that was that the only two good chances that the other team had, happened during the second half, so both of their goals were scored on me. The good thing was that my teammates blamed it on themselves and not me, so I was not dismantled then thrown into a fire like I had thought. It's been a good week and I am very happy with several things that have gone on, and if anyone wants any further insight, just talk to me online.

My Philosophy

I go to a school where people aren't exactly a religious bunch, and some are atheists. Because I am religious, the atheist bunches of people tend to make fun of Christianity, the bible, and basically anything else that they can get out of my religion. They seem to have a very fun time making fun of Christianity, and it is crazy some of the things they say. One of the students in my class thinks that it says in the bible that blacks are inferior to white people, which I have never seen or heard about. I'm sure he's never read the bible, and I bet most of the information that he receives is skewed by other people, who believe the same things he does. Whenever people in my class say that God is not real, I try to correct them the best I can and ask them questions about how the world was created, and how birds have wings and how we have legs. They don't really give me answers for them but they try to <a onmouseover="window.status='<a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href=" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;" si="'24&k="><a onmouseover="window.status='<a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href=" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;" si="'24&k=">make up some way that they could be created.

In my opinion (for many other people, it's different), but I believe that creation and evolution do not contradict each other. I believe in the creation, but I believe that the beginning is not literal. I think that it is symbolism of God's creation of the universe, and that God did not create everything immediately in their present form. God creates evolution after creating the first form, so God gives birds wings and lets them fly, and other creatures legs to walk. Even my science teacher believes that they contradict, so I am a bit overwhelmed by people who do not agree with my philosophy. I really would love to hear your opinions about evolution and the creation, so PLEASE comment on this post so I can know what you might think.

So long

I admit, it's been a while since I've tried putting up another post, but I did make a post, that never made it onto the site. I pressed "publish" and everything, and it still didn't do anything! I never know when my posts will make it to the site, and it's really frustrating. I have heard that my blog is really boring becuase I love to write and I guess people just don't liking reading something that is not "interesting" in their minds. I like talking about spiritual stuff, but I bet that for most of the population, that is incredibly boring. So I have compiled some interesting facts and junk that might peak some interests (just follow the link. I'm to lazy to write them myself):

Random Facts, Famous Quotes Random Facts, famous quotes, deep thoughts, and generally intriguing insights at randomfacts.org

The Loss

I am sad! Feel sorry for me, send your condolances, whatever you need to do to make me feel remotely happy at this horrible moment in time. My Dukies lost! TO MICHIGAN STATE of all teams! Coach K's first lost to Tom Izzo...and it had to come in the sweet sixteen. I watched the end of it last night, because I was at the Good Friday service at our church, and that was the closest I've come to crying in a long time. I know, for those of you who don't watch basketball, that that sound's pretty lame that that means so much to me, but I've watched almost every Duke game even before I knew that I was watching Duke. I watched every Duke game this year that was televised and for them to go out this easily to Michigan State, it is very sad for me. It'll be another year before I can experience this again. I remember the first game that Daniel Ewing played for Duke. I watched it to TV, and I said to my dad, "He's gonna be a star." I don't know if he's really made it up to stardom, but i've watched basically every college basketaball game that he's played for Duke, and it's really sad to see him go. At least next year, Duke will kick everyone's butts with J.J. Redick and Shelden Williams returning seniors...i can't wait!

This Past Week

This past week has been an interesting one. I have learned many things, both school wise and socially wise. I'll stay away from most of the social aspects of the week, because they might get a bit...personal (haha). Last Sunday, our youth group went on a snow tubing trip to "The Plunge" at Wintergreen. We left right after church and slid down the mountain at speeds approaching 40 miles per hour. On the Wintergreen website, when David and I were planning the trip, they say that there is a 100 foot verical drop, which didn't exactly make me want to go, but once I got there and I saw "The Plunge", I guess our opinions about a 100 vertical drop is, are different. It actually looked quite pathetic. I wasn't sure how I would spend two hours on something that looked painfully boring. once I slid down once, my thoughts disappeared. It was really fun! I learned the art of putting my heel on the snow on the way down and spraying my fellow comrades with snow, sorry 'bout that.

I also got a new number 2 and a new number 5, which i continue to keep and only a few have any idea what I am talking about...that's what makes it so fun to say that. After we got back to the church at about 9:00, a few of us went to Little Johns to get some food. I made David become jealous, when I, being the "President" of the Youth Group, and Meredith's "Hero" got Meredith a straw when she asked for one, before David was able to, so I retained my "Hero" status and David remains just the plain old youth group director. I felt sorry for David so I told him that he was my hero. In doing so, he used that against Meredith, saying that if I am Meredith's hero and David is mine, then that makes David, Meredith's hero...yeah, pretty bad logic, but what can I say, he's a college student.

This week at school, we finished our Peabody elections. There were three parties who were running for president comprised up of all 8th graders. Each Party had a President, a Vice President, and either one or two campaign managers. I was running for president, partly through pier pressure and partly through my own wanting to run. I was kind of disappointed when i realized that she was picking the parties for us, and I was not able to decide who were my positions in office, so i didn't have the clear shot at winning that I had expected. We gave our speeches on Thursday, which I was dreading, because I don't really like public speaking. My speech went okay, but little kids getting out of a class walked right in front of me, and it distracted me from my speech, so I messed up a bit. Anyway, I got second out of the three parties, but the votes were really close. For every ballot cast, 3 points would be awarded to the first pick of that person, 2 points to the second pick, and 1 point to the third pick. the final scores were 107 points to the Terra Verde party, 100 points to the Magnanimous party (ME!), and 93 points to the Illuminatus party. 2 votes could have changed the election. I was generally happy with my performance.

Okay, I am now done talking...so you can post comments about this or whatever you want to do. Thank you for reading the whole thing, because I love writing!

The Beginning of an Adventure

Yes, this blog is going to be an adventure for me. It sounds a bit over the top for something so simple, but yet it makes me feel like I can have another way of expressing my thoughts and some talk about my life (hence the title), and my life is very interesting. I will continue to make more posts for all of you to read based on what you might expect me to talk about. There will also, hopefully, be some posts on here that you do not expect, or about something that you know little about and would not hurt you to know. Please stay tuned for later additions to join me on this adventure. If any of you feel this urge to give me feedback about what you would want on this blog or how you think that I am doing with this, let me know. I am very willing to except other's feedback for my work, and "critism" as long as it's constructive.

Some of the posts I will put up will hopefully be funny for anyone of you, or maybe it's just my stance, over-enthusiastic sense of humor that might not be funny for anyone else other than me, or someone who really understands my thoughts. Some of it will also be very serious. I will talk about religion, and I will really want your feedback for that (David), or anyone, because I am still learning, and I want to know other people's opinions on the bible, God, and religion in general. I have grown up a preachers kid, so I have had a life that many people have never experienced. My religion is geared towards my parents religious experiences, and I am, by no means, doubting religion or what I have been taught through my whole life of being exposed to it. I am very religious, and I want to expand on my variety of knowledge and interaction with other forms of what I believe so thoroughly.

I am very involved in the (mostly) college, sports world. I love to watch the games and follow the teams and stats throughout the years of college sports, and, although I do not go to many games in person, whenever I feel like it's an appropriate time, I sit down and watch a good college basketball game. I do, however go to all the home games for UVa men's soccer, and I feel a special bond with the team and even sometimes with the fans. If any of you do not know by now, I am a very avid Duke fan, and I will be talking in posts very much about the team, the season, and other teams and players. These sports will be a big part of my posts, and you will be seeing more of me on this.

Thank you for reading this, and hopefully you will keep coming back and post comments on my various sections of my blog.
